CONTINUITY OF PRACTICE
FPMC, LLC was registered in West Virginia on July 12, 2023. The independent consulting practice and working structure began informally in 2005. This chronology distinguishes Barry-Lee Pace’s direct work, team-era milestones, and later organizational development.
BEFORE 2005
At Red Siren Technologies, a managed-services and cybersecurity provider, Barry-Lee supported targeted outreach to banking and technology professionals as organizations evaluated early Linux-based VPNs, intrusion detection, and infrastructure security. His direct responsibility was building the professional audience and invitation campaign for an emergency security summit involving Carnegie Mellon University’s Computer Emergency Response Team during the lead-up to Y2K.
RED SIREN · CERT · AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT
2003
Working inside facilities now part of Vandalia Health, under the direct supervision of Edward T. Gannon, Barry-Lee contributed hands-on to Cat5 network upgrades and assisted with fiber runs throughout Webster Memorial Hospital. The work included routing cable through ceilings and existing building pathways, terminating Ethernet runs into server infrastructure, and wiring a camera—technical implementation requiring accuracy, practical troubleshooting, and discipline inside live clinical environments.
CAT5 · FIBER · CLINICAL INFRASTRUCTURE
2005
An informal independent consulting structure took shape in California through direct engagements in marketplace analysis, product adoption, usability, design, and emerging web technology. The work established a pattern that still defines FPMC: understand the system, find the adoption barrier, and build the path between the product and the people expected to use it.
INDEPENDENT PRACTICE · BAY AREA · ADOPTION
2005
Contracted directly by Philip Kaplan’s AdBrite as a project contractor working in analysis, content review, and ranking. Inventoried and classified publisher websites and advertisements, evaluated property quality, content sensitivity, advertiser compatibility, and ad suitability, and recorded supporting notes and metrics through completion of the project.
AD MARKETPLACE · CONTENT REVIEW · RANKING
2005
Contracted directly by Stickam, an early embeddable live-video platform developed by Advanced Video Communications, to execute a guerrilla-marketing campaign aimed at MySpace users. The work generated direct registrations and installations of Stickam’s webcam embed code, converting unconventional social outreach into measurable product adoption.
EMBEDDED VIDEO · MYSPACE · USER ADOPTION
2005
Sought out directly by Flora, an emerging blogging platform, for hands-on technical and product advisement at its California office. Evaluated look and feel, usability, customization, and product viability. Separately participated in a compensated HP research study on remote workers’ printing preferences.
PRODUCT ADVISEMENT · USABILITY · COMPENSATED RESEARCH
2006–2008
As Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Barry-Lee helped build the vendor side of an early two-sided services marketplace around live customer demand. The work integrated provider sourcing, qualification, territory, capacity, onboarding, pay-for-performance pricing, and a pre-committed advertising-budget model. Team-era milestones included eBay ProStores collaboration and finalist recognition in MIT’s $100K Entrepreneurship Competition.
MARKETPLACE LIQUIDITY · EBAY PROSTORES · DEMAND-LED ACQUISITION
c. 2006–2010
Sold a managed website-conversion platform that combined invisible behavioral tracking, triggered widgets and content, opt-in acquisition, and personalized follow-up. Conducted the initial business analysis, identified engagement points, translated the technical capability into a conversion strategy, and booked qualified demonstrations for the closing team.
BEHAVIORAL TARGETING · CONVERSION · QUALIFIED DEMOS
2008–2011
As Director of Sales & Marketing, Barry-Lee helped translate referral, loyalty, and reward software into systems smaller independent merchants could understand and afford. Business intelligence, product and UI feedback, vertical targeting, tailored demonstrations, positioning, pricing, social media, and customer acquisition formed one continuous adoption loop. Team-era work included early REST-oriented product architecture and AWS adoption.
REFERRAL SYSTEMS · SAAS ADOPTION · TEAM-ERA AWS
2011–2023
Independent consulting spanned search engine marketing, lead generation, direct outreach, sales, digital strategy, websites, CRM, automation, and operational workflow. Named engagements included consulting for Sebastian Marketing, work with the Center for Safety and Environmental Management connected to a Marcellus Shale project, and Cap City CBD Plus immediately before the COVID-19 period. The recurring finding became clearer: visible marketing or sales problems often begin somewhere else in the system.

2023
FPMC, LLC was registered in West Virginia on July 12, 2023. The registration formalized the current legal entity around a practice and working history that began informally in 2005; it did not create the underlying method or experience.

APRIL 2024
Beginning in April 2024, Barry-Lee served as volunteer Chair within the regional REACH Initiative Reentry Council structure, ultimately convening stakeholders across Randolph, Tucker, Upshur, Lewis, and Braxton counties. The work connected justice, recovery, treatment, housing, workforce, and community-service partners around the distinct needs of justice-impacted people, including those navigating substance-use and other co-occurring disorders, and helped make fragmented reentry systems more usable. This chapter is documented by Chrisha Spears, former REACH Initiative Reentry Council Coordinator.
REENTRY · STAKEHOLDER CONVENING · FIVE-COUNTY SYSTEMS
2024–2025
The work moved deeper into recovery, reentry, nonprofit operations, governance, evidence architecture, certification readiness, program design, digital infrastructure, and live service delivery. The stakes made the method sharper: when the system breaks, the cost lands on real people.
RECOVERY · REENTRY · GOVERNANCE · EVIDENCE
2025
AI became a construction medium for preserving context, organizing institutional knowledge, enforcing boundaries, and routing decisions to human authority. Governance-assistant and behavioral-health workflow architectures emphasized citation, refusal, escalation, and operational usefulness over chatbot novelty.
KNOWLEDGE ARCHITECTURE · GOVERNANCE · HUMAN ESCALATION
2026
Design, technology, revenue systems, institutional evidence, recovery-sector operations, and AI now operate as one consultancy. The through-line remains unchanged: find the pattern formal systems miss, build the intervention, and leave durable capacity behind.
FORENSIC DIAGNOSIS · IMPLEMENTATION · TRANSFER
THE THROUGH-LINE
The tools changed. The environments changed. The work stayed close to the operation: detect the signal, make the system legible, build what is missing, and transfer the capability.
